About First Missionary Baptist Church
Brief History
First Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1910 in the mining community of Acmar.
First Missionary Baptist Church is experiencing exciting growth both spiritually
and physically. We are actively ministering to the needs of the residents of Moody, Alabama
and surrounding communities. We have many vibrant ministries that are designed to meet
the needs of existing members while seeking to lead others to Christ. Great things are
happening at FMBC and we invite you to be a part of a church that is on the move!
Mission
This congregation is a local body of the Universal Christian Church founded on faith in
Jesus Christ. Our purposes are to entrust ourselves to fellow Christians (fellowship), to
accept our call to ministry (ministry), to evangelize those without a right relationship with
God through Jesus Christ (evangelism), to better equip those who have a right
relationship with God through Jesus Christ (discipleship), and to exalt and praise
Almighty God (worship)! The Mission of First Missionary Baptist Church is to be a Christ
Centered Church, ministering to the whole man, Mentally, Spiritually, and Physically. We
aim to develop families of faith, evangelize the lost, and stir up the gifts that are within
us, using Matthew 28: 19 as a guide to Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

What We Believe
- We believe there is only one true and living God. He is unchanging and undefeatable. He is God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

in Christ, and we are committed to facilitating and celebrating this sacrament in our church family.
